Organized in 1904, the West Point Volunteer Fire Department proudly serves the communities of West Point, Virginia, and the southern portion of King William County.

The department has become one of the most respected and, innovative departments in the region, demonstrating the dedication of its members to the community.

Who We Are

Our department provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the community. To do this, we use a ladder truck, rescue engine, brush truck, tanker, a command vehicle and two ambulances. We are also active in our community with our Annual Firefighter’s Parade, and Annual Santa Run, along with participation in other community events.


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the West Point Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad, Inc. located in West Point, Virginia (the Issuer), will allow for public comment through Friday, October 20, at 4 pm., via email at [email protected] or via phone at 804-761-5335, for the purpose of satisfying the public hearing requirements of Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, on a proposal the Issuer enter into an agreement to finance certain equipment. The equipment to be financed consists of a 100-foot ladder truck and will be maintained at the fire station in West Point, Virginia.

To finance the costs of such equipment and to pay costs and expenses incidental to the financing, the Issuer proposes to enter into a loan agreement with a maximum aggregate principal amount not to exceed $1,600,000. The Issuer will be required to pay all taxes on the equipment. The rental payments due pursuant to the loan agreement will be secured by a security interest in the equipment.

All persons interested may be heard throughout the public comment range stated above, or may file written comments with the West Point Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad, Inc. prior to the date of hearing set forth heretofore.
