WPVFD Marine 3 launched this afternoon responding to a boat taking on water in the Mattaponi River. Once on scene, they found three boaters in the water with their boat nearly sunk. Fortunately, all three were rescued and are safe and healthy.

– Always wear a life jacket.
– Watch for inclement weather.
– Know how your boat works and how to properly operate it.
– Don’t drink and boat.
– Know what to do if you have to abandon your boat.
