Introducing Member Matt Cash

Today we’ll be introducing you to Matt Cash! Matt started with us a few months ago because he felt a somewhat personal connection to the community. He’s excited to build relationships with his peers at WPVFD and learn the different ways that we tackle daily tasks and incidents in the fire service. Some of you may recognize him from the Cops and Bobbers Fishing event. A boating enthusiast, he is right at home on our rescue boat, Marine 3!

Matt is a firefighter/paramedic and tells us even though he “hasn’t worked every job in the world; there’s no way that there can be a career more rewarding as being in fire/EMS. It’s the best job in the world.” His advice to someone wanting to enter this field? “Learn something new every day but don’t stop there, teach your peers what you learned. Customer service goes a long way. Treat every individual the way you would want yourself or your family treated.”

Matt couldn’t pinpoint his number one hobby. He tells us he often refers to himself as a jack of all trades and a master of none. He enjoys the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, music, playing guitar, singing and physical fitness.

We’d like to welcome Matt and congratulate him on being chosen as our most recent member in the spotlight! We’re so glad you’re a part of our family!
