This program provides youth volunteers training and experiential learning through lots of fun-filled, hands-on activities that promote the growth and development of younger members so they can “Serve Here, Grow Anywhere”.
Junior Firefighter Program
The program is designed for young adults interested in learning about a career in the fire service and provides a sense of community responsibility through training, drills and community-related activities.
The programs also allow individuals to determine if they want to pursue a more significant role in the fire service.
Under the supervision of fire officers, Junior Firefighter members will:
- Gain confidence
- Develop leadership skills
- Learn to use various tools
- Develop technical and mechanical skills and readiness
- Acquire a greater awareness of personal and fire safety
